Adoption Concert FAQ:
1. ZOMG! what is this? awesome, live, local music that you don’t have to go to a smokey bar to hear? and it’s indoors so you won’t be gross, sweaty, hot, and eaten alive by bugs? FOR ONLY $5?!
is this true?
yes, yes it is.
2. Even So? Who are they?
only the greatest band you’ve never heard of.
3. Wait, wasn’t that the band you used to be in? a long time ago? like, in the ’90s?
shit. was it that long ago?
4. is this some kind of self-promotion crap?
no! it isn’t. one of our great friends (and fellow Even So bandmate) is adoptiong a daughter from China. It’s very expensive to adopt. this is a fundraising event to help her and her husband out with some of the expenses.
5. remember how, back then, you had pink hair? i bet you’re glad you grew out of that phase, huh?
oh. um, yeah. (shaddup.)
6. there is no number 6.
7. $5?! isn’t that expensive? i mean, to hear an old band play old songs?
$5 is on the cheap, you deadbeat miser. and? we’re not old! stop saying that. plus?! kids get in free. it’s a family event, you see?
8. but i’m somebody’s kid, can i get in free?
if you can drive you can pay $5. don’t be a miser! it’s a fundraiser. we need your funds!
9. can we bring our own booze?
no, ma. it’s at a church. it’s only two hours. we can go get wasted afterwards, okay?
10. so what kind of music does the band play?
that is a great question!
11. …are you going to answer it?
i couldn’t answer it 10 years ago. rock-ish? and accoustic-y? with singing. a rhythm section.
12. wow. that explains a lot.
Neil Peart is our drummer.
13. OMG!RUSHRLZ4EV3R!!!!!!11 are you serious?!
no.
14. you suck.
i know.
15. now, where and when is this again?
read the flier, lazybones. oh all right. it’s Saturday, June 19, 7pm. at 417 Broad Street Downtown Gadsden, AL.
Be there or hear it from me for the REST OF YOUR LIFE.

We started the “chick tunes” worship team in the late 90s. But that time that LeNola’s band needed an opening act and we said “okay, if Liz will lead it” and then the night went really well and Jimmy H. said “hey, if we had a name, I could book us gigs”… that was in early 2000. And the gig where we had a farewell concert for Scott and Amanda, which kinda turned out to be a farewell to even so altogether… was 2002. So the even so years… a rather limited edition!
we are so LE.
were.
we were LE.
how were we a chick band if we had two dudes in it?
We weren’t a chick band, we were a chick worship team, back when it was me, you, Liz and Tiffany. And then we started asking Jimmy to play drums and Scott to play guitar.
ohhh. that is ringing no bells. i can’t believe i don’t remember that. at all.
We have “even so” buttons for sale at GVC for all the collectors out there.
