That word came to me in the shower. I shouldn’t be allowed to have thoughts.

Just what did you have sitting on your beer shelf during said shower?
That’s the weird thing, it was a morning shower, not a paint monkey shower. But I have been working on a portrait and using poisonous pigments so, maybe the fumes from that or the heavy metals that my skin probably absorbed caused that AMAZING word to be invented. The definition hasn’t come to me yet.
Well, if you’re lucky, and I mean LUCKY, maybe Walt D. will use your word in a timeless children’s movie one day. If so, I’d like to put in my request NOW (noted for the official record) that I get to play the peculiar yet kind character who wears the amazing hats. And “peculiar” here means “absolutely sane with incredible creativity and genius that is not fully appreciated but is still held in highest regard by all who encounter said individual.” I do have a number of fabulous hats that I can bring to the set but I will require a separate line in the budget for my personal Fabulous Milliner to create more. And if that portrait is of me in a fabulous hat then my mind has just blown. Whoa.
Okay, Hatlady, NOW who’s hittin’ the beer shelf? Your hat high is out of control.
Can you cure my ignorance, embarassing as it is, and reveal what exactly a “paint monkey shower” is?
You’re not ignorant! I just speak in riddles and inside jokes too much. When I was a paint monkey, meaning house painter, I would take a shower in the evenings after work. So, that’s the paint monkey shower. Paint monkey comes from an old SNL sketch about the Bathroom Monkey.
