racist paint?
Category: dribblings
I’ve been away from the blog all week. Had that pesky Thanksgiving thing to take care of, and I’ve been working on a few paintings.
I did another Jimi Hendrix head. It’s the same as before only this one is smaller and tighter.
The next one is to be Willie Nelson and it’s going to be in a burnt sienna monochrome. Wait, no, the color is called Indian Red. (Indian Red?! Is this the ’60s?) Winsor&Newton might be racist, I don’t know. (They aren’t. It’s a color that’s been around for a bajillion years, relax.)
Then after Willie I’ll do one of Johnny Cash. Shit, I should do all the Highwaymen.
No wait, I’m already bored of this.

That word came to me in the shower. I shouldn’t be allowed to have thoughts.

On Tuesday nights we have dinner with friends. It’s all part of our sweet, rock n roll lifestyle. We were talking about God knows what when skee ball came up, like it does.
“WHY ISN’T THERE A SKEE BALL IN MY GARAGE RIGHT NOW?”
“If you guys had a skee ball in your basement, I’m sorry, but I’d be over all the time. “Hi, it’s me again, you guys going to work today? Great, could you just leave the key under the- okay, great! Thanks.” That conversation would happen every day.”
“When we get home tonight we are throwing away everything in the garage and buying a skee ball AND a pinball machine!”
Mr. Fleegan: “I’d kind of like a hot tub, you know.”
“Okay, a hot tub, skee ball, and pinball machine. DONE. Our Hot Tub Arcade Garage is going to RULE.”
As of yet, we have not thrown away all the lawn mowers/tools/junk in our garage to prepare for our Hot Tub Arcade, which makes me think we’ll never do this, but also it’s not even 9am yet, so there’s still hope. Except, you know, the part where we have to go to work and be adults all damn day long.
When Don Quixote sang this:
And the world will be better for this
That one man, scorned and covered with scars
Still strove with his last ounce of courage
To reach the unreachable star
Pretty sure he was singing about the unattainable Hot Tub Arcade Garage.

Have you guys heard about the amazing new website called dingdangdookie.com? Only a third of it works. The Ding part.
The Dang part isn’t up yet.
The Dookie part is um, well, it’s not been thought up yet. It’s the future.
dingdangdookie.com boasts hilarity and swearing. It’s not safe for work or home or the moon.

So I added a thing that if you’re using a smart phone or whatnot you can read the site and it’s not itty-bitty. If this doesn’t work right, please let me know. I don’t have a smart phone because I’m fighting it for as long as I can.

I took 2 days vacation from the library for my birthday. That’s right, it was my happy birthday this weekend. In lieu of flowers send cash.
Anyway I took two days vacay (I hate when people call it vacay) because I basically get some days every year and I never use them, but if I don’t I’ll lose them so I used them. Yesterday I putzed around the house and Roxie and I took two walks, saw 0 wildlife.
Today’s vacation day I went to the sign shop and worked because I suck at vacation. But! At the sign shop I got to pet 2 really new baby banty chicks. They were the size of peeps! (But not as delicious. Nor as much fun to put in the microwave.) Super tiny baby animals. I don’t like birds, but these were tiny and not yet filthy. By the weekend I’m sure they will be gross.
The other cool thing I did at the shop was shoot a bull’s-eye with a crossbow. Yeah, that’s right! My aim is well good.
Things you should know:
1. I was only about 10 yards from the target. So I guess anyone’s aim could be good from that distance.
2. Crossbows are much heavier than you would think.
3. Crossbow arrows are called bolts.
4. Crossbows shoot with a shit-ton of force. I’m pretty sure it could go through bone with no problem at all.
5. Did I mention it was heavy? Because it was.
6. There is no number 6.
7. Getting the bolt out of the target was more difficult than hitting the target. Like in cowboy movies, right?
8. The sound it makes is very satisfying.
9. I want to shoot it again.

an email:
I need 3 graphics for Blah Blah Co. to fit the 29″ wide door, plus 1 (one) to fit the size that you put on the window. The 4th one will be for the front window, but I want to put it up eye level in the middle window. She needs one for the front and back door, and the door leading into her shop. I also need two graphics for the front and back door to read Blah Blah Co.
I have read this 23 times, and I still don’t know what they want. Graphics of what? How many? Where?

A gig part II
Category: dribblings
So we played at the church in Webster’s Chapel again. This time it was a youth group lesson thing. We played in a small room and not the sanctuary part. It was really great. It was small and intimate, and we didn’t have to plug into a sound system, we just used our amps… and that was enough.
Once again there were a ton of kids/teens. Where did they all come from?
Blimps. I’m sticking with blimps.
Anyway, the kids were great. They really seemed to dig the worship songs. Then they all started praying for each other, and then we stopped playing and joined in with the praying part, and then the pastor gave a lesson. He is very earnest.
I guess this will become a regular thing? I’m kind of hoping that I won’t have to do it every week, cos it is kind of a long drive, but we’ll see.
